Uploaded Editable PDF

The PTO has several PDF forms that are editable which can be directly uploaded in EFS-Web without having to first print to a PDF preinter and then uploading the printed PDF document.



It would be awesome to be able to edit/change these editable PDF forms after they have been uploaded. Currently, one can only view such forms which do appear "editable", but cannot be edited. Any changes made to such forms in EFS-Web... more »

Drawings--Improvements When Filing Landscape Oriented Drawings

I had the following experience filing a provisional with landscape drawings. Before continuing, I should note that I converted the drawings to bitonal formal (by converting to TIFF and back to pdf). They were standard Letter size with a landscape orientation.

Download and search options

There are two features available in Private Pair, which are no longer available in Patent Center.

The first one is in the search options, where it's no longer possible to search by docket number. This was useful, for example, when the system did not immediately find via application number.

The second feature was when selecting to download a PDF. In Private Pair it is possible to open the document without first saving.... more »
