View Receipt History is broken

The addition of the "View Receipt History" feature to the Workbench recently was a nice addition, but it is broken. It seems to only show receipts for *new* application filings (the inaptly named "new submissions") and does not list receipts for submissions in existing applications (the inaptly named "existing submissions"). While having receipt information for new application filings is certainly useful, that information... more »

Identification of Intelligent Information Services reliance

Automation coupling with a Human subject matter requires a procedure identifying and verification of the connectivity between Intelligent Information Services and Human Interoperator Distributor. It is clear to see policy formation oversight has implemented strict procedures which enable "organizational" catalyst promoting aggressive disassembling of a targeted jurisdictional subject matter. This subject matter should... more »

Set default sort order of applications

One of our listserv members requests: PatentCenter should have a way to set a default sort order of applications in the workbench home list (e.g., most recent changes first vs. numerical order). Although the user can sort the application list as they want, there's no way to preserve that preferred sort order, so it has to be set every time.

User-friendly click-list for cases with recent status changes

One of our listserv members requests a user-friendly click-list for cases with recent status changes, just like PAIR.

Private PAIR has a feature in "Search by Customer Number" called "Applications with Status Changes". You can see it quoted in the attachment. The feature is extremely helpful. Every night, shortly past midnight, I use this feature to check for cases in my firm's portfolio that have had recent status changes.... more »

PatentCenter validation of AIA/14 non-inventor applicant field

One of our listserv members says: Patentcenter should check to see whether the filer failed to check at least one "excuse" box in the non-inventor applicant section of the computer-readable Form PTO/AIA/14.

When a filer uploads Form PTO/AIA/14 (Application Data Sheet), Patentcenter should carry out validations. As mentioned in other submissions, Patentcenter should validate priority claims against DAS.

When a filer... more »

Saving Assignment Templates on EPAS

Allow us to save Assignment Templates at any stage of the Assignment process.

I have to go all the way to the end to save a template, which means it includes not only my data and the assignee data, but also the assignee data, which has to be edited (at a minimum the date the document was signed is unlikely to be the same.)

Allow us to save the template with just our data, as well as with our data & assignee data.

Split Document - Document Type Not Assigning Correctly

There is a bug in the Split Documents interface. When you split a document and assign document types, if you don't click "Done" at the bottom of the Split Documents interface but instead click the button to advance to the next screen, it acts like all of the pending document type selections for the sub-parts of that document have been assigned (at the least, it doesn't give you and warning that they have not), but does... more »

Search for patent # omits attorney docket

In PAIR, searching for applications by attorney docket number is easy: the docket number search is one of the radio button options on the front page under Search for Application, and when selected, opens up a dialog to allow entering the docket number. See attached screen capture from PAIR. The "Search for patent application" feature in PatentCenter does not allow searching by docket number at all. See attached screen... more »

ADS does not populate all data into PatentCenter

One of our listserv members reports: I just tried to file an application in Patentcenter. I always use the PTO's fillable-PDF PTO/AIA/14, and I checked that the one I used today is the latest one (02-18). After having uploaded the completed ADS (with no errors reported by Patentcenter) and gone through uploading/categorizing the rest of the application documents, I saw that the final screen with the "submit" button showed... more »

I can't believe this made it out of Alpha testing

I am in the middle of my first submission using PatentCenter instead of EFS-Web. It is a disaster. What were the Alpha testers doing that they allowed this to get to the Beta stage.
1. As part of our internal QC process, we have paralegals who check the submissions after they are uploaded and saved. Part of that process includes checking that document parts have been correctly labelled. And that requires being able... more »

Allow Setting up Patent Docket on My.USPTO.gov with Customer #

The Trademark Docket allows search by Attorney but the Patent Docket requires a listing of each application number for monitoring.

It would be very useful to be able to add to your Patent Docket by Customer Number. It is also logical, since you are logged into My.USPTO.gov and thus it is easy to provide the Customer Numbers associated with your log-in.

View Receipt History visible only to actual filer trending idea

One of our listserv members reports, the View Receipt History function of Patententer, which is clearly intended to try to replicate the "last 40 ack receipts" function of EFS-Web, fails at this because it is visible only to the actual filer and not to others who are connected with the application.

The Patentcenter developers have said from the beginning that one design requirement for Patentcenter is to replicate each... more »
