Do not duplicate

Since I am a beginner, there are things that are obvious to the USPTO personnel but not to me. An example is filing a petition and discovering a few days later that you can file an ePetition. I was going to file an ePetition, but it was explained to me by a representative at the IAC that it would be very difficult to sort out at the USPTO. When I eventually reached the Petition office, they politely said "do not... more »

Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront - Next Record and More

Please add a quick link or button to access the next record in the Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront when you perform a bulk look-up. Currently the user has to use the breadcrumb link to return to the Lookup Results before selecting another item. It would be more efficient to simply move forward and backward to the next record. It would be additionally helpful to have the option to: 1) Jump to a specific record;... more »

Fix IDS form to accept six and five-digit patents

For many years, the Information Disclosure form does not allow the addition of U.S. patent numbers less than 1,000,000. Any attempt to add a number in the U.S. patent section with six digits or less brings up the following popup: "Invalid Patent Number format. Patent numbers can be up to 13 charates, with the first two being alpha numeric. EXAMPLE: 99,999,999; 9999999." Trying to fool the form by adding a leading... more »

MyUSPTO improvements: PAIR to patent docket; manage favorites

1) Most of the time I go directly to the files that I manage on Private Pair. It seems to me it would be faster if I could do that right from MyUSPTO. Perhaps one way to do so would be to have controls in Patent Docket for linking to associated files in PAIR, both at the individual level and in bulk. 2) It would be helpful to have controls to edit the Favorites list faster. As it stands, when you add a link, it goes to... more »

Financial Manager Notifications

Notifications relating to payment method status should only be sent to administrators. In large firms such as ours, we have many fee payers who need not be involved in managing payment methods. As such, any user who is not designated as an administrator should not receive administrative like communications. Deposit account status is not distributed to all users, only administrators. The same standard should be used... more »

Collapse Financial Manager Notices

Users must access Financial Manager to add new personnel to their stored payment methods. When a user first logs into Financial Manager, they should have an opportunity to collapse various notifications so that toggling between payment methods eliminates the substantial space taken up by the notifications. To better confirm users have reviewed the data, the option to collapse could appear after initial login. For example,... more »

MyUSPTO Improvement - Link Searchable MPEP

The drop-down menus in MyUSPTO are very helpful. Please update the link on the Patents drop-down for the MPEP to pull up the searchable MPEP. The HTML version is not user friendly, especially to those who are newer to patent prosecution and need to search to find their answers. The Trademarks drop-down is already set to pull up the searchable TMEP.

MyUSPTO Improvement - Add Drop-Downs to MyUSPTO Links

The MyUSPTO links available on every USPTO web page should include a drop-down menu to either:

Create Account

What Is It? (link to home page)

Having to click on the MyUSPTO link and then click on Sign In seems excessive when you know what you want. Even in the event that a user clicks on Sign In when they do not yet have an account, the sign in dialog box gives them the option to create one.

VOIP Calls Through Computer as well as Phone Calls to PTO

Sometimes waiting on hold for the PTO is quite infuriating. Considering the large volume of calls placed daily, could the PTO implement a digital VOIP to enable calls through a caller's computer that has a microphone and speaker? This could allow for useful on screen features, s.a. a time to available agent, call position in queue, and other stats, which could be displayed quietly in the background while the caller... more »

Saving Assignment Templates on EPAS

Allow us to save Assignment Templates at any stage of the Assignment process.

I have to go all the way to the end to save a template, which means it includes not only my data and the assignee data, but also the assignee data, which has to be edited (at a minimum the date the document was signed is unlikely to be the same.)

Allow us to save the template with just our data, as well as with our data & assignee data.

Automated Interview Request (AIR) - overseas telephone number

The form (https://www.uspto.gov/patent/uspto-automated-interview-request-air-form) includes a mandatory phone number field formatted to accept 10 numeric digits. I am located overseas and do not find that this format accommodates a phone number in a foreign country. For one thing, there is no way to indicate that the first two or three digits are the country code. I believe this is usually indicated by preceding the... more »
