Fees included on Acknowledgment receipt trending idea

Similar to current EFS receipt, we would like to see the Patent Center receipt options to save/email receipt AFTER payment of any associated fees, and would like to see confirmation of fees paid on the actual receipt Currently, you have to submit your documents, save/email receipt, then pay fees and save a separate receipt.

Supplemental Content - Filing/Load Date Missing Data trending idea

The supplemental content tab has a column header for "Filing/Load Date" for documents that are accessible via that tab, but the column is blank and there is no data. If it is necessary to resort to such documents to resolve a priority issue later, there is no data that the Applicant can point to that confirms the date of submission for a particular document.

This seems relatively easy to fix. I believe PAIR's version... more »

Sign In Multiple Times trending idea

I sign into my USPTO.gov account, then click the Patent Drop Down and click on Patent Center. Once there, I do not have "Existing Submissions" available and when I look in the upper right, my name is not there. It still says Sign In. It seems that when you open patent center in a new tab, the sign in does not transfer.

Also the same when I open the link from the emailed receipt -- I can already be logged in and then... more »

Ordering cert copies - Certified Copy Center/Patent Center trending idea

When ordering a certified copy of an unpublished document through Certified Copy Center, we must upload Proof of Entitlement. When ordering by use of dsd@uspto.gov, we are not required to provide Proof of Entitlement. Is there a way to streamline the Certified Copy Center method so we do not have to upload Proof of Entitlement for every order? We are logged into myuspto every time, either through a registered practitioner... more »

View Receipt History improperly tied to IFW trending idea

One of our listserv members reports, the View Receipt History function of Patententer, which is clearly intended to try to replicate the "last 40 ack receipts" function of EFS-Web, fails at this because it has a guaranteed latency that is tied to the IFW latency.

The Patentcenter developers have said from the beginning that one design requirement for Patentcenter is to replicate each feature of EFS-Web (and each feature... more »

No way to delete uploaded ADS trending idea

One of our listserv members reports, A Filer uses "Uploaded ADS" and uploads the ADS and uploads all of the other documents for a new patent application. Filer then discovers there is a mistake in the ADS. Filer goes back to the front of the filing screens. Filer clicks to delete the ADS. Filer gets a warning: Removing this application data sheet will result in all previously entered bibliographic data being removed.... more »

Validate priority claim against DAS trending idea

One of our listserv members requests: Patentcenter should validate a would-be priority claim against DAS when possible.

Getting a priority claim wrong in a patent application is a serious matter. There's a super-simple thing that ePCT does to prevent many ways of getting priority claims wrong, that Patentcenter fails to do. Of course, Patentcenter should do the same validation that ePCT does — cross-checking against... more »

Abridged File Wrapper Option trending idea

In the Documents listing for an application, there are checkboxes to allow selection of individual documents for download. There is the option to select or deselect ALL checkboxes at once.

It would be a great feature to add to have additional buttons that would allow the user to select checkboxes for all documents except NPL, or perhaps all documents except NPL, search listings, and other generally non-interesting documents.... more »

View Receipt History is broken trending idea

The addition of the "View Receipt History" feature to the Workbench recently was a nice addition, but it is broken. It seems to only show receipts for *new* application filings (the inaptly named "new submissions") and does not list receipts for submissions in existing applications (the inaptly named "existing submissions"). While having receipt information for new application filings is certainly useful, that information... more »

Signature block for 85B form overly restrictive

One of our listserv members reports, the signature block for the 85B form wrongly tells the filer that the filer must provide the filer's name between the virgules of the S-signature.

37 CFR § 1.4(d)(2)(i) says exactly what a virgule signature (the USPTO calls it an "S-signature") is supposed to look like. The Rule says that what the signer must type between the two virgules (the two "slashes") is at least one letter... more »

Miscellaneous

Supply all valid browsers, servers, etc. to be downloaded

It would be great if the USPTO could supply all valid/legitmate browsers, apps, software, servers, etc. to be downloaded. In other words I had a computer virus that used all the common browsers and files and apps and security encryptions used against me stemming from Stockton University that created a block that caused a technical difficulty on the USPTO. In other words I had to used their system (USPTO) to solve mailing... more »

Formatting of PCT application numbers

PAIR formats PCT application numbers as PCT/USyy/nnnnn, while Espacenet formats PCT application numbers as PCT/USyyyy/nnnnnn, with PAIR dropping leading zeros.

Both are valid, but the difference means that automatic checking systems flag differences between what's in PAIR and your records if you use the Espacenet format, and between what's in Espacenet and your records if you use the PAIR format. It would really be good... more »

One of our listserv members requests: Patentcenter should display, in the priority tab, the results of the retrieval attempt from DAS. If the retrieval from DAS worked, it needs to say so, along with the date that it happened and whether or not that date satisfies the 4-and-16 date. We filed an application that included a 3K sequence listing (SQL) text file on August 5, 2020.
