It would be SO helpful, if there were a checkbox, perhaps, next to the priority information on the ADS to include an incorporation by reference. Or even a separate section. I thought earlier versions of the ADS *sort of* said that providing the information constituted incorporation, but it was unclear and I believe the language was since removed. Our firm files Preliminary Amendments solely to incorporate by reference ...more »
The 'more information' links on EFS link to either an Error 404 page or a page with the note that they are no longer maintained and not a part of the new website.
I assume this is a new issue now that uspto.gov has been redesigned, but it's a pretty major faux pas.
It has caused problems at various times that the leading information on the EFS acknowledgement receipt is an "EFS ID" that often too closely resembles a serial number and does not seem to have any purpose to the receiver of the receipt. It would be nice if the application information itself were the leading information on the receipt, of if the EFS ID were something other than a string of 8 numbers like an application ...more »
It would be great if there was information on PAIR for cases under appeal, or even a separate system to check the status. Some idea of how long it may take for a decision to be made would be helpful, a la the "first action prediction tab" in PAIR. Once the appeal is docketed and it is awaiting a decision, there is no telling where in the queue it may fall and it may sit for years. An "estimated decision time" or something ...more »
a printable fee schedule in .pdf form would be helpful!
It would be nice if, when EFS and/or PAIR go down, the screen indicating the system is unavailable had real-time information such as the time it went down, the current time, and any updates regarding getting it back online (such as an ETA). I think it may be useful to know how long it has been down and the likelihood of when it may come back online in order to make a contingency plan (since the actual EFS web-contingency ...more »
It would be great of USPTO forms were more friendly to special characters since so much information for inventors and places outside the U.S. use them. Once upon a time, copying and pasting special characters into a form-fillable ADS, while accepting them, would cause horrendous errors on OFRs needing correction. It is better now, but it would still be nice to see the forms more accepting of these characters, perhaps ...more »
Currently, it seems there is only a Notice issued if no Declaration is submitted, or if the Declaration is not proper. 1) We have received a lot of these Notices when a Declaration HAS been proper, just not the supplied USPTO form. 2) There is no indication on the Notice whether a Declaration is faulty or missing entirely, which would be much more helpful. (For example, if the Notice were to state a Declaration was ...more »
